Photographing the 2026 Edmonton Chamber Ball Award Winners
One of the things I enjoy most about being an Edmonton portrait photographer is having the opportunity to meet and photograph the people who are helping shape our city’s business community.
For the 2026 Edmonton Chamber Ball Awards, I was commissioned to photograph the three award recipients on-site at their respective businesses. The finished portraits were then displayed during the Chamber Ball awards dinner, held on January 24, 2026.
This year’s recipients included Traci Bateman, President of Bliss MediSpa & Integrated Wellness, who was named Business Leader of the Year; Peter Keith, recipient of the Community Builder Award for his ongoing efforts to support local entrepreneurs; and Cory Janssen, Co-Founder and CEO of AltaML, who received the Industry Innovator Award, Bianca Parsons of AFPA and Alicia Fowler ar MOD accounting.
Photographing each recipient in their own business environment added another layer to the portraits. Rather than bringing everyone into a studio, I was able to create images in spaces that reflected their work, personalities, and accomplishments. Environmental portrait photography has always been an important part of what I do because the location itself can become part of the story.
After more than 25 years as a professional photographer, I still appreciate assignments that allow me to meet interesting people and learn more about the businesses and organizations contributing to Edmonton’s growth.
Seeing the finished portraits displayed at the awards dinner was particularly rewarding. Photography can recognize achievement, document important moments, and introduce people to the individuals behind some of Edmonton’s most successful businesses and organizations.
Congratulations to Traci Bateman, Peter Keith, Cory Janssen, Bianca Parsons and Alicia Fowler on their well-deserved recognition. It was a privilege to photograph each of them and create portraits celebrating their contributions to Edmonton’s business community.
