Drone Video Project: Northern Alberta
Northern Alberta is a landscape unlike anywhere else in Canada. While many people picture endless forests or wide-open farmland, this part of the province is a remarkable blend of both. Dense boreal forests stretch for miles, filled with towering spruce, pine, and aspen, before giving way to rolling prairie grasslands and agricultural fields. It's a transition that creates some of Alberta's most beautiful scenery.
One of the best ways to appreciate this unique geography is from the air, hence Drone work. I have shot a lot of drone footage across Northern Alberta, and it often reveals patterns and textures that simply can't be seen from the ground. Rivers wind through dense forests, seismic lines carve subtle paths across the landscape, and vast agricultural fields create striking geometric patterns. Whether documenting industrial projects, natural resources, tourism, or commercial developments, aerial imagery provides a perspective that showcases the incredible scale and beauty of Alberta's north.
Whether you're exploring remote logging roads, hiking through the boreal forest, or capturing drone footage high above the landscape, Northern Alberta showcases the province at its finest. It's a place where rugged wilderness and open prairie exist side by side, creating a landscape that is both powerful and peaceful. As an Alberta-based photographer and drone operator, I never tire of documenting this incredible region and sharing its beauty from every angle.
